Job Description

We are currently hiring a Strategic Communications Consultant to join Eagle Hill at the Manager-level.  Managers lead teams and projects, nurture and grow client relationships, and are responsible for successful client delivery.  While your first engagement will be specific to Strategic Communications, forward engagements could fall within any of client industries and service lines. 

Over time, Eagle Hill’s Managers are able to transition across clients and service lines to develop a breadth of experience and expertise.  Specific responsibilities may vary and will be dependent on an employee’s current project role, but the role of a Strategic Communications Consultant (Manager-Level) may include:

  • Leverage their strategic communications experience for delivery excellence and value-added impact for clients and teammates
  • Manage project teams, play a hands-on role in developing client solutions in strategy and performance, talent, and change management
  • Work collaboratively with clients to develop a deep understanding of business issues, create strategies to address their problems, and work alongside clients to implement those solutions
  • Mentor, coach, and professionally develop more junior team members
  • Actively participate in helping Eagle Hill expand the business and shape internal initiatives

What are the Required Qualifications?

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience, at least 2 years external client-facing management consulting experience, and at least one year in a manager role with direct report responsibility at a management consulting firm within the Federal/State/Local or Commercial/Non-profit space
  • Demonstrated experience leading innovative and solution-focused outcomes in a collaborative environment
  • Strong relationship builder with demonstrated success in building rapport and credibility with clients
  • Demonstrated excellence presenting to an executive-level audience, both written and oral
  • Strong writing skills and familiarity with plain language
  • Experience with wide range of various comms media -- slide decks, videos, infographics, talking points, one-pagers, website, social media, newsletter, etc.
  • Comfort and familiarity with online conferencing tools
  • Communications plan writing and execution
  • Experience providing executive-level support including speech writing/media prep
  • Proficient in MS Office, including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Technical aptitude; able to quickly learn new technology platforms
  • Flexible and adaptable, comfortable operating and leading others in times of ambiguity
  • Commitment to leadership and takes accountability for the performance and professional development of their team
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
  • Ability to successfully complete and retain any company, federal, or other background investigations required to perform client work
  • Ability to adhere to company and client requirements related to COVID-19. These may include, but not be limited to: completing health questionnaires, obtaining a vaccination, providing proof of vaccination and/or obtaining negative test results, etc.

What are the Desired Qualifications?

  • Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Behavior, Human Capital Management, Human Resources, or Organizational Development preferred; MA or MS degree in Strategic Human Capital Management a plus
  • External client-facing management consulting experience in Eagle Hill’s service lines (strategy and performance, talent, and change management)
  • Familiarity with the RFP lifecycle and desire to contribute to business development efforts

Compensation: A reasonable expectation for a starting salary range is $117-125K Base + Bonus.

Positions are located in the Washington, DC metropolitan areas.  Applicants must be willing and able to work at our Crystal City office and at client sites throughout Northern Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, DC metro area.  Eagle Hill does not cover the cost of relocation.  Occasional travel may be required based on business needs.
